An idol of goddess Durga is ready to be taken to her pandal. In the wee hours of the 5th night of the 10-day long Dusshera Festival, idols of Durga are transported to the many pandals of Calcutta, from the idol-making neighbourhood of Kumartuli. They are installed and then venerated over the next four days before being immersed in the Hoogly river on Dashami, the 10th day of the festival.
